Mirage 2000 Pic GalleryDevelopmental work fo the Mirage 2000, began in 1975 after the cancalation of the larger Super Mirage, with the offical specification being written up in 1976. The first prototype flew on March 10, 1978 with deliveries occouring one year behind schedule. The Mirage 2000 introduced the SNECMA M53 turbofan, RDM radar, as well as CTR's, HUD,s and HOTAS. In 1979 Dassult recived a contract to build the 2000N which is based on the 2000B airframe but strengthned to allow low level flight. It is also equiped with the Thomson-CSF Antilope 5 radar and the ASMP nuclear missile.
